Tarvaris Jackson re-signs with Bills
The Buffalo Bills announced Friday that they have re-signed veteran quarterback Tarvaris Jackson.
Jackson, according to new Bills coach Doug Marrone, will get the opportunity to compete with Ryan Fitzpatrick (and perhaps a draft pick or free agent pickup) for the starting quarterback job in Buffalo.
“I spoke with Ryan and Tarvaris and told them we will have an open competition at the quarterback position – similar to what we will do at all positions on our team heading into our offseason work,” said Marrone via the Bills website. “I believe that our players will embrace this challenge. We are looking forward to working with our players as we prepare for the 2013 season.”
Jackson was Buffalo's third-string quarterback in 2012 and never played a down after being acquired from Seattle and edging out Vince Young for a roster spot in preseason.
