Tebow Era looks to be beginning in Denver
For weeks, neither fan support, nor billboards nor mounting losses could ease Tim Tebow into the Broncos starting lineup.
But on Sunday, Broncos coach John Fox finally opened the Pandora's Box that is benching Kyle Orton and playing Tebow.
According to the Denver Post, Tebow was still a little rough around the edges after relieving Orton with Denver trailing 23-10 at halftime. But the bottom line for Tebow on Sunday is that he did what he did at Florida - he made enough plays to give his team a chance to win at the end.
The Broncos have a bye week upcoming, and talk of a quarterback controversy is bound to escalate in the coming days, but the truth is, the Broncos probably can't turn back now. They almost have to move forward with Tebow getting a full opportunity to prove whether or not he can be a capable NFL quarterback.
After all, there is no more need for them to spin their wheels with Orton anymore. They know what he can do, and thus far the results have not been good. Might as well see if Tebow can do better.
