Tebow had 'better relationship' with Jets coaches
Tim Tebow said in his introductory press conference as a New York Jet, that he chose New York over Jacksonville, "I had a better relationship with the Jets' coaches," according to ESPN.com.
Tebow had said last week when the trade was in the works that he wanted to play for Jets coach Rex Ryan, whose style he had admired from watching the Jets 2010 training camp on HBO's "Hard Knocks."
Reports emerged in Jacksonville that owner Shahid Khan was the one behind the Jaguars' push for Tebow and that the Jaguars front office and coaching staff were less sold on Tebow returning to his hometown to play quarterback. Jaguars GM Gene Smith drafted Blaine Gabbert, who struggled as a rookie last year, but Jacksonville has a new coaching staff in place with Mike Mularkey at the helm.
Tebow indicated that he has already been texting current Jets starter Mark Sanchez and is excited to work with him.
