Tebow makes Time's 'Most Influential' list

Time Magazine has released its 2012 list "100 Most Influential People," and while you would obviously expect such names as President Barack Obama and his presumed Republican challenger Mitt Romney to be on the list, the group includes billionaires, world leaders, actors, entertainers and sports figures are on the list as well.

Only one NFL player made the cut, and it is New York Jets current backup quarterback Tim Tebow, formerly of the Denver Broncos, of course.

Tebow was honored on the list for more than his football exploits and popularity. He is an unabashed evangical Christian and his mix of faith and football resonates well with his fans, who both love his hard-core football determination and what he stands for off the field in his faith and charity work.

The section written about Tebow was authored by New York Knicks basketball star Jeremy Lin, who also was one of six athletes to make the magazine's list.
