Tebow thankful for opportunity in New England

The New England Patriots are doing their best to quell the media circus that followed Tim Tebow into his first practice with the club.

Tebow offically signed a reported two-year deal with the Patriots and joined the club for mini-camp practice on Tuesday.

The quarterback gave a statement to reporters following his first work with the club, but took no questions from reporters. Tebow said he was "very thankful" for the chance to sign with the Patriots. You can view Tebow's statement on the Patriots' website.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick was his usual self in talking about the Tebow situation, handling it much like he has hundreds of other topics that could be potentially distracting to the team.

"Anything we do is what we feel is in the best interests of the team. Tim is a talented player that is smart and works hard. We’ll see how it goes," Belichick said, answering the first question about Tebow and then offering a similar version of that quote regarding nearly every other Tebow question.

He finally tired of answering Tebow questions and asked the media to change the subject.
