Texans add another WR named Johnson
The Houston Texans signed wide receiver Bryant Johnson on Monday, and the veteran could compete for the fourth and/or fifth receiver spots in the rotation.
Andre Johnson has long been the Texans’ No. 1 wideout, but the team is looking for some veteran depth behind Kevin Walter and Jacoby Jones.
According to the Houston Chronicle’s John McClain, the Texans have not been satisfied with the other receivers in camp, opening the door for Bryant Johnson to perhaps earn a roster spot, even on short notice.
Johnson was a former first-round pick of the Arizona Cardinals, and has also spent time with the San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions.
