Texans' Phillips to have kidney procedure
Houston Texans defensive coordinator Wade Phillips will miss about a week to 10 days of work as he will undergo a kidney procedure.
According to the Houston Chronicle, the surgery Phillips will have is not life-threatening and the kidney is not cancerous.
“I felt sick about a week ago,” Phillips said. “I want to get this taken care of so I can get back. I’ve been getting way too much credit. This is a team thing, and they’ll do well without me, and I should be back ready to go for the Tennessee game.”
Phillips, fired as the Dallas Cowboys head coach last season, has been credited with a huge turnaround in the Texans defense this season, which is a major reason by Houston won the AFC South title last week and is headed to the playoffs for the first time in the franchise's 10-year history.
