Texans place Schaub on injured reserve
As was reported last week, Matt Schaub's season is over due to a foot injury.
And while the Houston Texans held out hope, pending a second opinion, the team made it official on Wednesday by placing their starting quarterback on injured reserve, according to the Houston Chronicle.
The Texans have signed former New York Jets quarterback Kellen Clemens to fill Schaub's spot on the active roster, which would seem to be an indication that they will not in a waiver claim for Kyle Orton, who was released by Denver on Tuesday.
Matt Leinart will make his first start of the year Sunday against Jacksonville, while rookie T.J. Yates will be the No. 2 QB with Clemens being third.
