Thieves hit Giants parking lot while team is away

When the New York Giants were away, the burglars had time to play.

While the Giants were away in San Francisco for Sunday’s game, multiple vehicles belonging to Giants players were burglarized and one was stolen from a parking lot at the Timex Performance Center in East Rutherford, N.J., which is where the team’s facility is.

According to the report, the burglaries took place between 4 a.m. and 4:20 a.m. Sunday in a lot that is run by a private security firm contracted by the Giants. The players park in this lot and then take a bus to the airport for road games.

Police declined to reveal the identities of the players who had their vehicles burglarized. A 1996 Chevy Caprice was stolen.

“Only in Jersey can someone be heartless enough to break into my car while we are in Cali making fans proud," offensive tackle James Brewer wrote on his Twitter account.
