Tiki Barber submits to interview for HBO's 'Real Sports'
Tiki Barber has found a large perch for a media appearance as he prepares for what he hopes will be a successful return to his career as a football player.
The maligned running back, whose personal life has been tabloid fodder for well more than a year, will appear on HBO’s “Real Sports” in the edition that debuts Tuesday on the pay channel.
Barber submits to an interview with veteran journalist Armen Keteyian. The 36-year-old Barber is attempting to revive his career four years after walking away from the game when he was one of the better backs in the league.
Since, he’s experienced a failed career in television and then left his wife when she was pregnant with twins to hook up with a former television intern, Traci Johnson. It’s salacious stuff that’s had him all over the pages of the New York papers.
Whether or not any team will give Barber a serious look remains to be seen. Hopefully, the interview will cover a lot of ground. Barber has been dragged through the mud and there seemingly isn't a lot of public support for him at this time. Some speculate he's returning to football because he needs the money. Plenty of questions can be answered.
