Tim Hightower back in mix with Redskins
Tim Hightower started five games last season for the Washington Redskins before he suffered a torn ACL and youngsters Roy Helu and Evan Royster showed some promise.
The Redskins have a full backfield again now as Hightower has agreed to terms on a contract that will bring him back. Hightower announced the news on his Twitter account.
Redskins coach Mike Shanahan is known for keeping a stable of running backs and Hightower was his first choice last season before the injury. He’ll face competition and will first have to prove he’s ready and able to handle the load.
One thing that will help Hightower is he’s got solid blitz pickup skills and the Redskins are going to want to ensure that quarterback Robert Griffin III remains healthy.
