Titans expected to tag Griffin
The Tennesee Titans are expected to follow through with plans to place the franchise tag on safety Michael Griffin, according to TitanInsider.com.
Griffin, a first-round pick in 2007, is a two-time Pro Bowl selection and has 17 career interceptions.
By franchising Griffin, the Titans would in essence be setting cornerback Cortland Finnegan free to test the open market beginning March 13. Finnegan and the Titans are far part in conract talks and no new numbers have been proposed since before the 2011 season began.
