Titans GM Webster: Britt on the spot this year

Kenny Britt's star-crossed career with the Tennessee Titans has reached a crossroads in 2013.

Britt is entering the final year of his contract, and despite flashes of greatness, he has too often been sidetracked by injuries and brushes with the law.

Titans general manager Ruston Webster indicated that Britt (and the rest of the Titans) are "on the spot" to turn things around in 2013 after going 6-10 a year ago. Britt, in his first season back from knee surgery, had 45 catches last year, which is a career high. The Titans need more from a first-round pick who has also clouded the team's view of him with nine incidents off the field in his time with the Titans.

“We expect all our guys to take care of themselves off the field and do the right things in those situations, plus on the field get themselves ready to play,” Webster said. “Kenny had a tough year just bouncing back from injuries but I think he is on the spot to produce this year.

“Plus, I think with our record, us being 6-10, everybody is kind of on the spot, so he would be in with the crowd on that one. But we do expect our guys to handle ourselves quite well off the field and stay out of those situations.”

It could be a make or break year in Tennessee not only for Britt, but for a lot of people.
