Titans haven't ruled out Locker for this week yet

Jake Locker will begin "football activities" htis week, according to Coach Mike Munchak.

Locker, who sprained his hip against the New York Jets, has missed the past two games and probably won't be under center when the Tennessee Titans host the San Francisco 49ers. But after ruling him out quickly the previous two Mondays, Munchak said there was some chance that Locker could return this week.

He's gonna be able to do more this week. He's doing well. Just like him and Shonn Greene, starting today, they'll be a lot more active,” Munchak said via TitanInsider. “Now it's just a matter of seeing how they handle more activity. I think the rest part and the light stuff is over, and now he can get more into real football stuff, and now it's just a matter of how quickly he progresses without pain, the same with Shonn Greene. We'll see how Shonn is this week running and how he handles and how his knee responds to more football-like activity. The next couple of days, we'll get a feel for where those two are in terms of how soon they can help us win.”

Of the two, it would seem taht Greene, who has been out since week two after having his right knee scoped, would have the better chance of returning this week. And if that is the case, that could be a nice boost for a sagging Titans running game that has fallen on hard times in recent weeks.
