Titans' Morgan fined $7,500 for hit on Flacco

Tennessee Titans defensive end Derrick Morgan hadn't played in a regular season NFL game in 11 months until Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.

Morgan played well and finished the game off with a sack of Joe Flacco on the game's final play. But it was his contact with Flacco earlier in the game that cost him $7,500 by the league.

Morgan was, in the eyes of the game official and the league, a bit too late and too rough in pouncing on Flacco after the quarterback had recovered his own fumble and was lying on the ground. Titans defensive tackle Karl Klug hit Flacco just before Morgan to get credit for the sack on the play. Morgan was flagged for 15 yards on the play for unnecessary roughness.

"I'm definitely appealing it,” Morgan told TitanInsider.com. “I don't have a problem with paying the fine if I feel like I'm wrong, but it was one of those things where it was kind of a split-second thing. Even one of their offensive linemen was looking at the replay and saying, 'Man, that was a tough call.'”
