T-Jack gives himself an F to this point

It’s been a rocky start in Seattle for Tarvaris Jackson.

The quarterback was essentially handed the job without a competition after he arrived. The results, to this point, include some big passing games. But the offense has struggled as a whole and the team is in a 2-5 hole, something that doesn’t surprise many.

“We're a 2-5 team, and a quarterback's (job) is to help the team win as much as possible," Jackson said, according to Percy Allen of the Seattle Times. "We've still got a lot of work to do, but 2-5 is failing. So I guess I got an F right now."

Jackson is 2-3 as a starter and threw for 323 yards, a career high, when he came off the bench this past Sunday in a blowout loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. That’s a lot of empty yardage in a 34-12 loss.

"We're getting better," Jackson said. "We're growing, and I'm feeling more and more comfortable each week. And the guys are feeling more and more comfortable in me. And the coach is gaining more trust in me.

"So that's good. My whole thing is I'm always about wins. That's what I really pride myself in, and that's what all quarterbacks should be judged on. That's what I want to be judged on, so right now 2-5 is not going to get the job done."

Maybe progress is being made, but they’re baby steps.
