Todd Haley calls confrontation with drunkards 'non-issue'
Todd Haley addressed a Deadspin report that accused the Steelers' offensive coordinator of getting in a confrontation with a group of drunk men at a hotel bar.
Haley, via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, called the situation a "non-issue."
"There were no words exchanged," Haley said. "There was no security involved. Nothing like that happened. Geez, I was out with my wife."
A tipster, named "Joe," emailed the sports site Deadspin to say that he saw Haley at the Crowne Plaza hotel, in Upper St. Clair, Pa. First, Haley autographed a napkin for him that read, "Go Steelers! Chiefs suck!!"
"I wrote what I did in jest," Haley told reporters. "I've never at any time said anything negative about the team that gave me a chance to be a head coach."
