Tom Brady practicing today, wearing knee brace
More evidence that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's left knee injury wasn't serious: He's practicing today in a walkthrough after suffering a mild sprain and has designs on playing in this week's preseason game.
However, he's now wearing a protective left knee brace after not wearing the brace on his surgically-repaired knee Wednesday.
Brady was hobbled, limping off the field after being crashed into by Tampa Bay Bucccaneers defensive end Adrian Clayborn after Clayborn bull-rushed offensive tackle Nate Solder into the backfield.
Team president Jonathan Kraft told reporters Wednesday: "I’m under the impression that it’s probably not that serious, but that’s not a definitive answer.”
Evidently, Kraft was dead-on in his assessment as the Patriots dodged the proverbial bullet to their season following a rocky offseason dominated by negative headlines with former tight end Aaron Hernandez in jail accused of murder and former star wide receiver Wes Welker signing with the Denver Broncos.
Now, the Patriots are counting on Brady and new wide receiver Danny Amendola getting the job done.
