Tom Coughlin to receive distinguished honor from U.S. Army

New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin will receive the third-highest public service honor a civilian can receive from the U.S. Army.

Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger has a nice story how Coughlin, who has long done work to pay tribute to military personnel, will receive the Outstanding Civilian Service Award on May 23.

The ceremony will take place in Arlington, Va., at the home of Gen. Raymond T. Odierno, the Chief of Staff of the Army. Coughlin has visited troops in the Persian Gulf and has consistently invited veterans to team functions, including games.
