Tommy McDonald missing his 2nd championship ring

Tommy McDonald is missing his 1960 NFL championship ring. If the thing shows up, the Hall of Fame wide receiver will ask no questions. He just wants it back.

According to the Philadelphia Daily News, McDonald last had his ring Jan. at a 50th wedding anniversary for teammate Joe Pagliei in Collingsword, N.J. The gold ring has four emeralds and is inscribed with his name and number – 25.

Per the report, McDonald did not wear the ring on his hand, but he carried it in a jewelry pouch in his back pocket along with his Hall of Fame ring. The Hall of Fame ring is not missing. He frequently showed the rings at appearances and autograph signings.

“Some would even have a camera with them and ask if they could take a picture with it," McDonald said. "And I would always say, 'Sure.'

“I have no idea what happened to it."

Here’s the kicker: This is McDonald’s second ring. The missing one is a replica of the original, which was stolen from a gym locker in the 1970’s. Hopefully one of them will show up.
