Tony Dungy to visit Bears coaches today
The NFL coaches I’ve talked to this offseason have said their fear during the lockout is if they don’t do something to get better, they’re going to get passed up.
So, each team has adopted different ideas for coaching enrichment. Playbooks have been re-drawn. Tape has been studied endlessly. And people have talked.
The Chicago Bears will do some talking today. As Dan Pompei reported, the team is welcoming a visitor to Halas Hall. Tony Dungy is paying his old friends a visit. Dungy was the head coach in Tampa Bay when Rod Marinelli and Lovie Smith were position coaches.
“We're just going to talk football for a day," Smith said. "There aren't a whole lot of us still in our system who believe in it the way we do. We're pumped up about him coming."
The guess here is they don’t pop in tape of Super Bowl XLI. Dungy won his Super Bowl ring against Smith and the Bears.
