Tony Romo knows Redskins will be targeting his ribs
Tony Romo doesn’t seem overly concerned that DeAngelo Hall has pledged to go after the quarterback’s ribs.
Romo suffered a fractured rib and punctured lung last week and he’s expected to start Monday night when the Dallas Cowboys host the Washington Redskins. Hall didn’t say anything that isn’t said in every NFL locker room. He just said it publicly.
“I mean, that's what people do," Romo said, according to ESPN Dallas. "If they're able to get a clean shot on my ribs consistently throughout the game, then we're probably not doing that well anyway.
"I'm sure we'll target whoever's targeting my ribs in the passing game."
Romo was very matter-of-fact about the situation and what he said makes sense. Even if Hall had not spoken up, Romo knows the Redskins would be looking to put a painful shot on him. It’s just the way the NFL goes.
"If he's blitzing, that means he's not covering," Romo said. "So we'll attack whoever is covering his guy."
