Top 49ers defensive players missing minicamp
The San Francisco 49ers are expected to be without some top defensive players at minicamp today but if you think that fazes coach Mike Singletary, well, you would be wrong.
At least that is what Singletary is saying publicly. Defensive tackle Aubrayo Franklin and linebacker Manny Lawson are not expected to participate, according to the San Jose Mercury News.
Franklin has not yet signed his franchise tag tender worth $7 million. He is hoping to get a longterm extension with the club. Lawson reportedly is upset with his contract.
“I have heard that Aubrayo will not be here, which does not bother me one bit," Singletary said. "Manny is not here — does not bother me one bit. Those guys are working. They are doing what they need to do. I'll see them when I see them."
"I'll just say if Manny's not here, I know he's working," he said.
