Torn Achilles tendon ends season for Earnest Graham

When Earnest Graham tried to turn the corner on the outside on the first play on Tampa Bay’s second possession Sunday night in London, the Buccaneers running back crumpled to the ground.

You could tell it wasn’t good. Graham tried to get off the turf at Wembley Stadium but couldn’t, and had to be assisted to the locker room. According to Ira Kaufman of the Tampa Tribune, an MRI confirmed the veteran running back suffered a torn Achilles tendon, ending his season and leading the Bucs to place him on injured reserve.

Graham, the second-oldest player on the roster at 31, started the previous two games as LeGarrette Blount has been sidelined with a sprained knee. The Bucs have a bye this week giving them some time to heal up some other injuries. Offensive lineman Jeremy Zuttah (knee) and linebacker Mason Foster (ankle) were also injured in the game. The Bucs were also without center Jeff Faine (triceps) and defensive tackle Gerald McCoy (ankle). Tampa plays at New Orleans on the other side its bye.

The Bucs brought in three players for tryouts on Tuesday: fullbacks Jon Hoese and Eddie Williams and tight end Ryan Winterswyk.
