Toronto Mayor Rob Ford concerned about RG3's knee

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, who has come under intense scrutiny after he admitted using crack while drinking alcohol heavily, may have found a new calling.

Appearing on 106.7 The Fan's Sports Junkies show for the second consecutive day, Ford expressed concern over Robert Griffin III's knee as it continues to recover from an ACL tear sustained a year ago.

“I'm worried about Griffin's knee, I think he's got a serious injury he's not letting anyone know about,” Ford said on the radio show, via the Washington Post. “... They should get him healed up, and get someone healthy in there, because you can see his leg and it's not helping the team."

When asked about concussions, Ford said, "It's ridiculous. If you're gonna play the sport, you gotta know that you might get banged up. When I coach my kids, I say, ‘Guys, you know, you either get hit or be hit. You gotta be the hunter or the huntee.' And I'd rather be the hunter. Concussions are bad, but they've been around for years and years and years, so I think you just strap on the gear, do up your chinstrap and hit the guy as hard as you can.”

Even though Ford has expressed optimism in a re-election bid, perhaps it would be in his best interest to consider sports commentating as a backup plan.

After all, there aren't many more careers more forgiving than sports.
