Tropical storm forces Buccaneers, Saints to change plans
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers cancelled their practice scheduled for today as a precaution because of Tropical Storm Isaac and the New Orleans Saints are fixing to get out of town early for their final preseason game.
The Saints were supposed to have an off day Sunday but the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports interim head coach Joe Vitt changed the schedule and held a practice Sunday in order to give players today off so they can plan for the storm and help family leave town if necessary.
The Saints will likely leave for Tennessee – where they play Thursday night – on Tuesday morning with fear the storm could escalate into a hurricane.
The Bucs will still meet today and do some weight training, according to the Tampa Tribune, and their plan all along has been to leave Tuesday for their final preseason game Wednesday at Washington.
Hopefully, this storm does not pack damaging power when it reaches land.
