Urlacher, Briggs back out of Pro Bowl
After losing in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday, Chicago Bears linebackers Brian Urlacher and Lance Briggs are not going to play another game.
Both players removed themselves from the Pro Bowl today. Typically, players are required to have an injury in order to pull out of the all-star game. Neither player has any issue that is serious.
Carolina’s Jon Beason and Washington’s London Fletcher were selected as replacements. It’s the second consecutive year Fletcher has made the game as an alternate.
This was the seventh Pro Bowl selection for Urlacher, who had not been chosen since the 2006 season. It was the sixth consecutive all-star nod for Briggs.
