Vikings add CB Zack Bowman with 1-year deal

The Minnesota Vikings added some depth at cornerback and added an experienced special teams performer by signing Zack Bowman.

The former Chicago Bear will likely benefit from a fresh start. He was a starter in 2009 when he led the defense with six interceptions. But he fell out of favor with the coaching staff and spent much of the last two seasons as a reserve who was a core special teams performer. The signing was first reported by ESPN Chicago.

Bowman has good size at 6-1, 196 pounds and the Vikings are in need of help. Antoine Winfield missed much of this past season with injuries and Chris Cook was sidelined with legal matters. The Vikings had one the worst pass defenses in the league as opposing quarterbacks had a passer rating of 107.6.
