Vikings cut Jerome Simpson after possession charge

e Vikings are parting ways with Jerome Simpson.

The Minnesota Vikings cut ties with troubled running back Jerome Simpson.

Simpson was arrested for possession of marijuana. He was already serving a three-game suspension for violating the NFL substance-abuse policy.

Simpson, 28, caught 48 passes for 726 yards and one touchdown last season.

Simpson could face another longer suspension, which would make it even tougher for him to get back on the field.
