Vikings keeping a close eye on DT Brian Price
The Minnesota Vikings brought in defensive tackle Brian Price for a workout this week, the second time this season they have checked out the former second-round draft pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Vikings also kicked the tires on Price back in September and this most recent visit could have been scheduled with an eye toward signing him at the outset of the offseason.
The Bucs traded Price to the Chicago Bears at the start of training camp, settling for a seventh-round draft pick after working for months to find him a new home. Price did little for the Bears in preseason and was one of the team’s final cuts.
Price was considered talented coming out of UCLA but had serious hamstring injuries that required surgery and had been working his way back into shape. It’s like the Vikings wanted to see where he was at physically before making a determination on him. Price would be a low-risk investment and he fits the Tampa Two scheme that he was drafted to play for the Bucs.
