Vikings next to get a shot with Raheem Morris
Raheem Morris is making the rounds now.
The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach has met with the Washington Redskins and now the Minnesota Vikings are going to get together with Morris. ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported Thursday night the Vikings would talk to Morris about joining Leslie Frazier’s staff.
It’s assumed Morris would be offered a defensive backs job in Washington and potentially the title of assistant head coach under Mike Shanahan. With the Vikings, Morris is expected to talk today about a “high level” position. It was rumored well before the end of the season that Frazier might have significant change on his defensive staff, perhaps involving the removal of coordinator Fred Pagac.
If the Vikings were to hire Morris, there is a good chance they would stick with the Tampa 2 base defense that Frazier brought with him when he joined Brad Childress’ staff.
