Vikings place Jerick McKinnon on injured reserve

Mnnesota Vikings rookie running back Jerick McKinnon is out for the season with a lower back injury and was placed on injured reserve.

McKinnon leads the team with 538 rushing yards on 113 carries for a 4.8 average per run.

The Vikings will go with Matt Asiata, Joe Banyard and Ben Tate.

The Vikings promoted defensive end Justin Trattou from the practice squad and signed safety Ahmad Dixon to the practice squad.
