Vikings won't have to call players when minicamp is cancelled

First-year head coaches are permitted to conduct an extra minicamp as a way of getting them up to speed with the team.

One is about to go by the wayside, or at least be delayed indefinitely.

Minnesota Vikings coach Leslie Frazier had scheduled his first minicamp to take place next weekend, timing it up so the coaching staff could get a quick look at some veterans before making final decisions heading into the draft.

According to Jud Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Frazier admitted it’s “highly unlikely” any minicamp will go down next weekend. Frazier will wait until Monday to make a final determination. The easy thing for him will be that he will not have to alert the players. That’s because there is no contacting the players anyway.
