Ware says time is now for Romo to 'put up or shut up'
DeMarcus Ware had the biggest contract with the Dallas Cowboys until Tony Romo’s blockbuster deal came along.
The outside linebacker turned defensive end in the new scheme Monte Kiffin is running is all for Romo’s big pay day. That’s no surprise. Players root for other players to get paid as they all believe in the saying that high tide raises the level of all ships. Eventually, they figure they will get what they have coming, and Ware has certainly been rewarded.
But now it’s time for Romo to go out and earn that money.
“I feel like everybody is deserving to whatever is given to him, but at the end of the day, to me it’s put up or shut up,” Ware said on SiriusXM NFL Radio, according to the Dallas Morning News. “I’m just being straight-up honest with you. Get out there and be productive, and that’s with any player.
“Whatever they get, they’re deserving of it. You just got to get out there and play and I know he can be and will be the quarterback that is going to be the quarterback that is going to take us to the next level.”
So, we’ll see if Romo puts up or shuts up.
