Weeden already getting Browns' first-team reps

When the Cleveland Browns put their first offense and first defense on the field against each other on Tuesday in 11-on-11 drills, rookie Brandon Weeden was under center directing the offense.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Weeden already has the look of the Browns' starter, even if Coach Pat Shurmur and Weeden himself aren't quite ready to officially anoint him as such.

In the second period of team play, Colt McCoy, last year's starter, directed the Browns offense first, but it was Weeden who went to the podium after practice and the one who has created a buzz in the off-season work.

Asked if he felt like he is the starter, Weeden wouldn't commit just yet.

"Not yet, just because nothing is formal," Weeden said. "We're still two months out until we play our first pre-season game. I'm still working my tail off just to get better and keep learning.

"I'm getting more comfortable with what we are doing, but I still have a long ways to go."
