Welker unsure about off-season program
Wes Welker is still weighing his options in regard to the $9.5 milliion franchise tender, and part of that could include staying away from the New England Patriots off-season program.
Welker has yet to sign the $9.5 million franchise tender the Patriots placed on him, and often players who have been franchised stay away from the team's off-season work by not signing the tender in hopes of a long-term deal. The Patriots would have until July 16 to sign Welker to a long-term deal to replace the tag.
Welker told the Boston Herald he was still undecided about which course of action he would take regarding the tender and the off-season program.
“I don’t know. I’m not quite sure yet,” Welker said. “We’ll have to wait and see how things go. To tell you the truth, I haven’t made up my mind yet.”
