Wilf not happy with McKinnie, not going to trade him
Bryant McKinnie’s Pro Bowl week party didn’t go over well with the big man.
Minnesota Vikings owners Zygi Wilf said he was “really disappointed” that the left tackle was given the heave-ho from the NFC Pro Bowl team during the week after blowing off practices and meetings and forcing the NFC club to play a tackle short in the all-star game.
McKinnie later asserted that he backed out of the game because of injuries to his feet and ankles, but he never told anyone about his issues. The NFL forced him to reimburse the league for his expenses during the week of the game.
But Wilf isn’t upset enough to want McKinnie out of Minnesota (and away from Lake Minnetonka). Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported that Wilf gave an “emphatic `no’” when asked if the club would try to trade the standout player.
"We'll move on and we'll find a way to work it through," Wilf told Zulgad. "That's not a problem."
