Will Blackmon signs with the Giants

Apparently the New York Giants liked what they saw from Will Blackmon on Wednesday because they have signed the free agent to a contract this morning, according to the Twitter account of his agent Paul Lawrence.

Blackmon will get a little more than a week to get up to speed with the schemes the Giants use on special teams, and will take over for Darius Reynaud as their punt returner when they play again in Week 9 at Seattle. The Giants have a bye this weekend.

The former standout return man for the Green Bay Packers suffered a knee injury early last season but is back to full strength, and landed with the Giants after the Packers reached an injury settlement with him. He will also be able to help the Giants in other areas on special teams.
