Both starting defensive tackles for the Minnesota Vikings have undergone surgery since the season ended.

Kevin Williams, the Pro Bowl performer, had arthroscopic knee surgery last week, a procedure conducted by Dr. James Andrews, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Pat Williams had surgery to repair a torn triceps in his left arm. The massive run stuffer will be a free agent and it’s unclear at this point whether or not the Vikings will attempt to bring him back. He’s let it be known that he would like to continue playing.

The Williamses, of course, face a four-game suspension from the NFL for violation of the league’s drug policy. The infamous StarCaps case appears to be at the end of the line and both players could finally be benched for the first four games of 2011.
