With bad hip, Hasselbeck will be game-time decision
With their playoff life hanging in the balance, the Seattle Seahawks will make a game-time decision with quarterback Matt Hasselbeck on Sunday night.
The veteran, who could be putting a Seahawks uniform on for the final time, was able to return to practice on Friday on a limited basis. He’s listed as questionable for the NFC West showdown at Qwest Field with the St. Louis Rams. The winner enters the playoffs as the fourth seed in the conference.
Hasselbeck suffered a hip injury last Sunday in a loss at Tampa when he ran into the end zone. The Seahawks have prepared this week as if career backup Charlie Whitehurst will start.
"We've been committed to that," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said, according to the Seattle Times. "That's what we can count on and that's what we know.
"(Hasselbeck) got some work done. He needed the feel of getting in the huddle and making his calls. That's going to make him feel better about the plan if he has a chance to play."
