Woman accuses Brandon Marshall of punching her in eye
It didn’t take long for trouble to find Brandon Marshall after the Chicago Bears picked him up in a trade Tuesday afternoon.
Actually, Marshall was involved in an altercation early Sunday, and news of it didn’t leak out until Tuesday night, hours after the Bears shipped the Miami Dolphins two third-round draft picks for the three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver.
The New York Post reports Marshall has been accused of punching a woman in the face outside a club Sunday morning. The Post reports Marshall was at a Chelsea nightclub when he got into an argument with a group of friends.
According to the report, Marshall and another unknown athlete were thrown out of the club for fighting. While out front, an argument continued and Christin Myles, 24, told police that Marshall punched her in the left eye, leaving her with a black eye. She filed a police report with the 10th Precinct.
Marshall’s attorney Harvey Steinberg painted a much different picture in a statement to the Post.
“While attempting to leave to avoid the melee, (Marshall’s wife) was struck in the face by a thrown bottle. She suffered serious injury,” Steinberg, said. “The mayhem continued outside.’’
Steinberg did not say if Marshall filed a police report in regards to his wife’s injuries. He also declined to say if Marshall threw a punch.
Given Marshall’s extensive history of legal issues, the NFL certainly will look into the matter.
