Woodley, Timmons rework deals for Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers began the process of getting under the salary cap by restructuring the contracts of LaMarr Woodley and Lawrence Timmons.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the Steelers were an estimated $25 million over the salary cap, but have begun the process of reworking deals in order to be in compliance by the time the new league year begins.

According to the report, the Steelers will be saving about $6.5 million against the cap by redoing Woodley's deal, which included converting a $5.5 million roster bonus due next month into a signing bonus.
