Wrist surgery should help Rams receiver Mardy Gilyard
St. Louis Rams wide receiver Mardy Gilyard underwent surgery to repair a nagging wrist injury.
It’s an injury he had when the team drafted him in the fourth round from Cincinnati and the hope is he’ll be better moving forward.
“He battled the thing all season long," Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo said. "He had to put that little brace he had on it."
The expectation is Gilyard will be ready for full action in the spring, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Thomas reported four other Rams players have undergone minor surgeries:
Defensive end Chris Long had thumb surgery.
Cornerback Ron Bartell had a bone spur removed from his left foot.
Linebacker Chris Chamberlain underwent minor ankle surgery.
Cornerback Jerome Murphy had finger surgery.
