Your Week 3 Sunday NFL Preview

After a great opening day weekend going 3-1 against the spread, I took a nosedive last week going 1-3. I have to pick it up as there has been too many big black sedans with guys in darks suits passing by my house recently. That said, I’m not a better, I do this for fun so if you bet on my picks, you could be foolish. Atlanta at Dallas (even) Many people will stay away from this game because Dallas is starting Brandon Weedon at quarterback. The difference between a backup coming off the bench in the middle of a game and starting is huge. Coming off the bench he really isn’t prepared. With a week to prepare, the game plan will be structured around Weedon’s strengths. Atlanta has played good football the last two weeks. That said, I still think their offensive line is suspect and the Dallas defensive line will have an advantage. Because of that and the game being in Dallas, I will go with the Cowboys in a pick 'em game. Oakland (+3) at Cleveland  On paper the Browns may be a little better overall team but I really don’t trust Josh McCown to come through at quarterback after missing time. The Raiders on the other hand have one of the top young quarterbacks in the league in Derek Carr. Carr keeps getting better by the week and he will be the reason the Raiders turn around their awful play of the last few years. While Cleveland may win the game, it won’t be by 3 or more points. New Orleans at Carolina (-9) I thought that New Orleans might bounce back after a horrible season a year ago. To date they haven’t. Now they have to play at Carolina without the services of Drew Brees. Carolina is no offensive force in the NFL but with Cam Newton they have the capability of putting points on the board at any time. New Orleans has played poorly with Brees - with him out - this game could get ugly. San Francisco at Arizona (-7) San Francisco is a team that does nothing for me. I think they are one of the most overrated teams in the NFL. I have said and still say that they might not be a .500 team at the end of the season. Arizona on the other hand is playing great football. Carson Palmer right now is playing as well as he ever has in his long career. His timing, decision making and accuracy in the first two weeks has been outstanding. With the strength the Cardinals have at the receiver position they are tough for any defense to matchup against. Give the points as this game may not even get close. Follow Greg on Twitter @greggabe
