Your Week 9 Sunday NFL Preview

Due to some family commitments, I wasn’t able to write my Sunday preview last week. For the year, I am still in the black and I have a really good feeling this week. Green Bay at Carolina (+2.5) The Panthers are undefeated and playing at home. I don’t see how they can be getting points, but they are. Green Bay is coming off perhaps their worst performance of the season last week versus Denver and will look to bounce back behind the arm of Aaron Rodgers. While Green Bay may look to have the advantage on paper, Carolina is one of the best coached teams in the NFL. On top of that Cam Newton is having his best year as a pro. The Panthers' defense is one of the better defenses in the NFL and at home they will be tough. I look for Carolina to stay undefeated and win by 3. Take the points.   Washington at New England (-15) The Patriots might be banged up on the offensive line, but they are still the best team in the NFL and they are coached by easily the best coach in the NFL. Tom Brady is having perhaps is best season ever, and I see no reason why the Patriots can’t blow out Washington. Washington has had a few good outings, but overall, they are not a good football team. They don’t match up well versus the Patriots and this game could be over by halftime. It’s a large spread, but give the points anyway.   Miami at Buffalo (-2.5) I think every time I pick my former hometown team they come up short. Still, I feel the Bills will come up strong after having the bye week to rest up and get healthy. Miami looked great for a couple weeks after they made the coaching change, but came back down to earth last week in blowout loss to the Patriots. This will be the Dolphins second straight road game, and it will be chilly in Buffalo with a high of only about 48. That will also help out the home team. Tyrod Taylor returns at quarterback for the Bills, and his ability to run and pass will be a huge advantage for Buffalo. Give the points and take Buffalo.   Denver (-5.5) at Indianapolis Ordinarily, in a game like this I would take the home dog, but the Colts have been horrible this year. They are ready to implode and are beating themselves just about every week. With a new offensive coordinator calling plays this week for the Colts, it could prove difficult for the Broncos early on, but their defense right now is the best in the NFL, and they will make the proper adjustments. Peyton Manning is not what he used to be, but he still will want to come up big in his return to Indy. While he may not have a great game, he will do more than enough to win. Take the visitors and give the points. The Colts are bad! Bonus Selections Oakland Raiders (+5.5) over Pittsburgh Dallas (+3) over Philadelphia Follow Greg on Twitter @greggabe
