Familiar Franchises Top List Of NFL's Priciest Games In 2016

NFL Training Camps have started and the first preseason games are only one week away! While preseason games technically don’t have an impact on teams in the standings, talent evaluation for coaches and timing between players is key.

Even before teams showed up for training camp, fans have already started identifying top games on the schedule, and prices on the secondary market have reflected demand for each game. During the regular season, ticket prices tend to fluctuate since each team only has eight home games, so opportunities to see your favorite team are limited. Playoff games tend to command the highest prices, but premium matchups during the regular season drive demand on the secondary ticket market. Five of the top regular season contests are presented below.

9/18 Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings | US Bank Stadium | Get-in: $317

The Minnesota Vikings will open U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday, September 18, against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. After last season’s brutal home playoff loss to the Seattle Seahawks, expect the fans to show up in full force for this NFC North showdown. Fans that want to attend this game can check out Razorgator, where Packers vs. Vikings tickets start at $317, which is Minnesota’s highest get-in ticket price during the regular season. This game will likely have an impact on the NFC North race, so expect a competitive game between these two teams.

10/16 Cincinnati Bengals at New England Patriots | Gillette Stadium | Get-in: $251

The most expensive ticket price on New England’s home slate in a Week 6 showdown against the Bengals. More importantly, this will be Tom Brady’s first home game of the season. New England has won five of its last six games against Cincinnati, including a 43-17 drubbing of the Bengals in 2014. Fans that want to go this can find Cincinnati vs. New England Patriots tickets starting at $251 on Razorgator, which is the second highest mark on this slate of top games.

11/13 Seattle Seahawks at New England Patriots | Gillette Stadium | Get-in: $224

Another Super Bowl rematch is scheduled for this season. The Seattle Seahawks will travel to Gillette Stadium to face the New England Patriots in a Super Bowl 49 rematch. Super Bowl 49 is considered to be one of the most entertaining games in NFL history, and more likely than not, both teams will have that showdown in mind when they go at it in a crucial game in the first half of November. Thus, it could end up being one of the top contests of the 2016 season as well. Seahawks vs. Patriots tickets start at $224, which is New England’s second most expensive get-in ticket price at home this season. While it’s certainly pricey, fans can at least save money on their Gillette Stadium parking if they elect to use ParkWhiz.com.

10/2 Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers | Levi’s Stadium | Get-in: $176

The Dallas Cowboys will travel to Levi’s Stadium for a Week 4 matchup against the 49ers. These two long-time rivals have squared off in six NFC Championship games, four of which were won by the 49ers. San Francisco holds a 17-16-1 lead in its all-time series against Dallas, but these two teams are currently in different places; Dallas is expected to contend for the NFC East, while San Francisco is rebuilding under head coach Chip Kelly. Still, premiums are being commanded on the secondary market, as many might expect given the history of this rivalry. On Razorgator, Dallas vs. San Francisco tickets start at $176.

9/8 Carolina Panthers at Denver Broncos | Sports Authority Field | Get-in: $161

A rematch of last year’s Super Bowl will take place on Opening Night as the Carolina Panthers travel to Denver to face the reigning Super Bowl champion Broncos. Denver embarrassed Cam Newton and Co. in Super Bowl 50; Super Bowl MVP Von Miller was all over Newton and registered five solo tackles, 2.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. There are some question marks surrounding Denver’s quarterback, but many expect Mark Sanchez to lead the offense in Week 1. The get-in ticket price for this game is $161, which is the fifth highest ticket price on this slate of top games.
