Patriots-Redskins Highlight Most Expensive Games List of Week 9
The New England Patriots’ scorched earth campaign continues this Sunday when they host the Washington Redskins at Gillette Stadium. The Pats are one of four teams still undefeated entering Week 9 and will look to keep the streak alive against a struggling Redskins team. Despite the rather lowly opponent, however, there is still a massive demand for tickets on the secondary market. According to TiqIQ, the average price for Patriots vs Redskins tickets is currently $498.97 on the secondary market. That marks a 5.7% jump over the Patriots’ season average of $471.89. Sunday’s game will be the second most expensive game remaining in Foxboro this year behind a December 6 battle with the Philadelphia Eagles ($579.65 avg.). The cheapest available ticket to this weekend’s bout is now $232. Plenty of hotel options still exist if planning a trip to Gillette this weekend. Foxboro hotels on Hipmunk.com start for as low as $89 per night while Airbnb options are listed starting from $78 each night. Flights to Foxboro are also available from anywhere in the world. The Patriots aren’t the only team generating big ticket prices at home this weekend. Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers welcome Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers to Bank of America Stadium in the second highest-priced game this weekend. Panthers vs Packers tickets own a secondary market average of $424.94 and the get-in price is $189. Only a November 22 matchup with the Washington Redskins will be more expensive at Bank of America Stadium with a $444.81 average. The Panthers look to claim their eighth consecutive win but will be tested by a formidable Green Bay team. The Packers played a rather uncharacteristic game against the Broncos last week, however, scoring just 10 points in their first loss of the season. Last season saw the Pack take a convincing 38-17 victory over the Panthers. They’ll touch down in Charlotte for the first time since 2011 this weekend. Peyton Manning returns to Lucas Oil Stadium this weekend for just the second time since his departure to the Broncos in 2013. The future Hall of Famer is generating big demand on the secondary market, with Colts vs Broncos tickets averaging $246.06. That marks a 104% jump over the Colts’ season average of $120.48. It may very well be Manning’s final visit to his old stomping grounds, which has allowed prices to skyrocket for Sunday’s game.
