Third Saturday in October Posting Highest Secondary Market Ticket Demand During Week 8
Don’t look now, but we’re more than halfway through the 2015 college football season. With a slew of undefeated teams making up the majority of the Top 10 entering Week 8, it will be the 97th meeting between the Alabama Crimson Tide and Tennessee Volunteers that dons the top-priced tickets on the secondary market. Other top-priced games this week include Florida State at Georgia Tech, Ohio State at Rutgers and Texas A&M at Ole Miss. It comes as no surprise that Saturday’s showdown in Tuscaloosa is garnering huge ticket prices. Though Tennessee is struggling at just 3-3, their illustrious history with Alabama is considered one of the most notable rivalries in college football. According to TiqIQ, the average price for Alabama vs Tennessee tickets is now $221.94 and the get-in price is $151. Last year’s game in Knoxville owned an average price of $230.17 and $60 get-in price. Alabama returns home looking to improve on a 6-1 record and No. 8 spot on the AP Top 25. Georgia Tech will host the second most expensive game this week when they take on Florida State Saturday. Georgia Tech vs Florida State tickets currently average $146.22 and the cheapest ticket available is listed for $88. The Yellow Jackets enter the weekend at just 2-5 and welcome the surging Seminoles, whose 6-0 record has been good enough for the No. 9 ranking in the season following star quarterback Jameis Winston’s departure to the NFL. Those driving to the game at Bobby Dodd Stadium can find the best deals on parking on ParkWhiz.com. Atlanta parking for Saturday’s game currently starts at just $15 at many areas within the general vicinity of the stadium. The defending national champion Ohio State Buckeyes will be the second team this week that drives massive ticket demand in a visiting stadium when they travel to Piscataway, New Jersey this Saturday to take on Rutgers. The average secondary market price for Rutgers vs Ohio State tickets is now $144.49, though fans looking to just get in will find the cheapest ticket listed for only $9. The Scarlet Knights have a Herculean challenge in front of them as they face the No.1 Buckeyes, who last lost in a Week 2 battle with Virginia Tech last season. Rounding off this week’s list of top-priced college football games is a matchup between Texas A&M and Ole Miss this Saturday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. Tickets to the game currently average $139.76 and the get-in price is $56. Both teams are looking to remain relevant in a competitive SEC West that also houses 6-0 LSU and 5-1 Alabama. It will be a decisive game for the Rebels, who will likely drop out of College Football Playoff contention with their third loss of the season.
