The NFL is going back to Arizona for the 2015 Super Bowl.
Owners voted today at the fall meeting in Houston to have the 49th Super Bowl played at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. It’s the first time the game will be there since 2008 when the New York Giants ended the bid by the New England Patriots for a 19-0 season.
It will be the third Super Bowl for the area. The game was hosted at Sun Devil Stadium in Scottsdale, Ariz., in 1996.
The Phoenix area beat out a bid from Tampa, which has hosted the game four times, most recently in 2009. So, the Super Bowl lineup, starting with this year, is in Indianapolis, New Orleans, New Jersey and Arizona.
