The San Francisco 49ers have just been given a warning for a sideline incident, not a fine.
In the NFC championship game, someone on the 49ers' sideline collided with Seattle Seahawks special-teamer Jeremy Lane and knocked him down.
The league ultimately imposed no punishment for the hit. It may have been accidental.
The precedent for a fine for an intentional sideline interference happened years ago when New York Jets strength coach Sal Alosi intentionally tripped Miami Dolphins cornerback Nolan Carroll.
The Jets were fined $100,000 and Alosi was fired.
